Coloring a mindful piece of sacred art can be a soothing and enriching experience. Here at WhisperMagick.com our newest offering, Poppys n’ Rose Inspiration Tea Candles, includes a floral mandala for you to include in your spellwork, meditation, or creative ritual.
Here are some easy instructions on coloring your sacred art to get you started.
Gather Your Supplies and Set the Mood. You will need:
A coloring page/template. We have provided one with your candles.
Coloring utensils such as colored pencils, markers, or crayons.
A comfortable and quiet space where you can focus.
A fire-safe candle holder and lighter are needed if you use our Poppy n' Rose Inspiration candles (or other candles of your choice).
Sacred Incense
Creating the right environment is important for a fulfilling coloring experience. Find a peaceful space with minimal distractions. Consider playing calming music or lighting our scented candle to enhance relaxation. Use sacred incense to bless your area. Connect with the Peace of the Universe through your mind by breathing deeply and letting go of fear, worries, or daily stressors. Hold your hands over the sacred art template and instill the black outlines with your chosen blessing. Let your breath flow over the drawing. Do the same with any tools you will be using. If you're employing this experience to seek a solution or manifest a specific desire, close your eyes and set your intent. Engage your senses by including tactile and aromatic memories. Build your picture of success. Remember, take your time, and don't forget to smile during the process.
Select Colors Mindfully
When choosing colors, embrace the freedom to pick based on your emotions or mood. For instance, warm colors like scarlet or pumpkin orange can energize you, symbolizing opportunity, attraction, and manifestation. Conversely, cool colors like turquoise, dark blue and forest green can have a calming effect, resonating with peace, flow, protection, and nature’s growth. Alternatively, you can follow a specific color scheme that aligns with a particular ritual or spell if you prefer a more structured approach. Can’t choose? Breathe deeply and run your fingers over the colors, letting your intuition guide you. Ask yourself, what colors best reflect your intended success?
The Process
Begin coloring from the center of the sacred art and work your way outward. This can help you maintain symmetry and balance in your design as well as softly and peacefully birth your intent. Focus on each stroke as you color, being gently mindful of your movements and breathing. Soon, you'll drift into a peaceful, fulfilling zone of energy. Take your time and let your mind relax as you immerse yourself in the creative process. Experiment with different techniques including cross-hatching, curly lines, and dots. Explore shading, blending, or patterns to add depth and texture to your mandala. Don't be afraid to try new techniques and see what works best for you. Remember that there are no mistakes in sacred art coloring. Each stroke is an expression of your creativity and mindfulness. Embrace imperfections as part of the journey and enjoy the process without judgment. Use this time to express yourself and reflect on your emotions and thoughts. Allow your intuition to guide you as you choose colors and patterns for your art piece. This is a space where you can be yourself, imperfections and all, and that's a beautiful thing.
Remember to prioritize your well-being during the coloring process. If you start to feel tired or overwhelmed, it's important to take breaks and relax. Listen to your body and honor your needs throughout the coloring session. This practice of self-care is as important as the coloring itself, as it ensures a more fulfilling and enriching experience.
Add words of success and fulfillment with a black marker as part of the design. When you are finished, sign the back of your card with your name or personal insignia. Time and date, as well as the current Moon Sign and any other astrological occurrences such as a particular harmonic, eclipse, or other powerful event, can be helpful later on when reviewing your work.
If you choose to use a magickal powder/oil/perfume to enhance your working…Sprinkle the back of the card with your chosen herbal powder, whispering blessings/or repeating your intent. Dab the edges of the card with your magickal oil (so as not to ruin your work). Shake the card to aid in the drying process, knowing that the motion of the drawing moving through the air releases your intent into the universe. To protect your work, draw an equal-armed cross in the air over the front of the drawing.
Appreciate the Finished Product! Once you've completed your sacred art, take a moment to admire your work. Remember to smile and embrace joy. Reflect on the experience and the feelings it evoked, appreciating the beauty of your creation. Display your work on your altar, your desk, or where you will see it often. Coloring sacred designs can be a therapeutic practice that you can enjoy regularly. When your intent has come to fruition, choose the way that makes you most comfortable in releasing the work. Above all? Enjoy the process of coloring your mindful art piece, and may it bring you peace and joy!
