2014 Great Release Program Day 9 – December 9  2014 — Tuesday by Silver RavenWolf

Every day you must throw something away! and — this week — Every day you must GIVE one thing away!

Tuesday — BIG Day Moon in Cancer — 3rd Quarter (Banishing) (The Moon doesn’t move into Leo until late this evening) Home, Family, Compassion, Practice, Protection Ideal Planetary Hour for Cancer magick — Moon

Light a white candle surrounded with Basil and Eyebright herb to bring emotional clarity! This Week’s Theme: Focus

Pick a positive thought.  Hold on to it.  Retain it as long as you can.  Each day your retention period will lengthen.  You only need to practice! Practice retaining one positive thought three times a day.

Hail and Welcome!

“Another trash bag?” asked my husband as he meandered through the kitchen.  College football blared from his man cave.  He opened the freezer for his favorite ice cream bar.  “You organized the freezer.” “Yup.” He stopped and looked over by the front door.  “Another empty box?” “Yup.” “And I suppose that box on the bench is filled with donations?”  He looked at the calendar hanging on the kitchen wall.  “Oh.  Its December.” “Yup.” “Its that time of year again.” “Yup.” “I’ll do the dishes.” I smiled.

I started the Great Release Program in December of 2010.  Our circumstances were so much different then.  My husband and I were taking care of my father, who was slipping into dementia.  My youngest son was still at home.  My youngest daughter was going through a messy divorce.  Life was stressful.  I knew I had to do something to keep us all sane over the upcoming holiday season.  The house was a mess and the atmosphere was dark and foreboding.  Using Braucherei techniques as a backdrop, I began to write the first release program.  From the beginning my family and I worked the program along with those on this blog who chose to participate.  We battled through my father’s hoarding, personal self-esteem issues, and 25 years of clutter.  There were disagreements about “stuff”, about personal space, about why I was pushing the family to change.  Why couldn’t I just leave things be?  (This, from my aging father.)

I was adamant.  “Life is all about change,” I said firmly.  “And that is what we are going to do.  We are all going to change for the better!”  I talked to my family and friends about energy, about Chi, about Feng Shui, about the power of the mind…and I didn’t stop talking.

I am amazed at just how much has changed in our lives since then, and working this program every year had a lot to do with it.  By setting aside time once a year and expending a little effort in a forward motion over a thirty day period, we created new, success oriented habits that last the whole year through.  No, we are not picture perfect — but, each year we try, and each year we get a little better!  I also noticed that the release program changed our shopping habits.  We spend less money on junk.  It changed our daily routine — if a particular room begins to gather clutter, either my husband or myself stops and takes the time to straighten it up.  Broken things get fixed quickly (usually) or thrown away immediately if the assessment is “non-repairable”.  Items move to donation where before I would just let them sit.  We moved from a town to a lovely little place in the woods.  The program helped the entire family navigate through the country’s depression (and, yes, I call it a depression not a recession) and I even figured out a way to cut my electric bill in half (we are an all electric house — I’ll tell you how I did that tomorrow).  And best of all?  My husband just offered to do the dishes.

Now THAT is a miracle.

My point is that the program has many benefits — some that you will feel right away, and others that are long-term.  If you have the time, or are simply curious about past programs, why not search through the archives on this blog and look over past years, check out all the wonderful comments from folks and some of the techniques we have used in the past.  Just use “Release Program” as your key search words — you may find beneficial information that applies to your current circumstances.

Your Challenge Today:  Yesterday was Bitty day, where we looked at removing or clearing small things.  Today is BIG day, where we choose to move or remove an item that is bigger than a bread box.  This is an intuition exercise where we are going to allow our intuition to guide us in our action today.  Let’s walk around your living area, holding out our hands — using the hot or cold that registers on our palms as divining rod information.  When your hands are hot do you have a good feeling?  Or, do you feel better when your hands register cold?  This is your baseline.  If hot means “good” and cold means “not so much” — or if, for you, it is the other way around.  Keep the “good” stuff where it is for now, and think about what is registering as “not so good”.

Once you have walked through your environment once, and set your baseline, you are ready for the next part of the challenge.  Think about something in your life that is super stuck, or a problem that just seems too big to handle. Then, taking a deep breath, you are going to once again walk through your living environment and look for a large item that seems to match your feelings on the problem.  Use your hands and your baseline “feeling” of hot or cold as your guide.

You will know the item you are looking for when you find it.  Next, with the help of family members or friends (if necessary) you are going to either move that thing, or remove it permanently.  If you say to yourself, “Well, that’s stupid.  I can’t move or get rid of that,” then let your mind track back to the problem — do you have the same feelings about your problem or situation? That it can’t be moved?  That you are the victim?  That you are helpless? If so, think outside the box…think about a mental next step that can help to release you from your problem.  Think laterally — just like the side to side movement of the crab.  What can you do to change the energy around the problem?  How can you array your thoughts in a different way that will change the pattern?  Make a CHOICE to somehow move forward by changing the energy pattern of your thoughts on that situation.  Then, walk through the environment again, and look for a different item that represents the problem, using the feeling you have on the palms of your hands as a guide.  If you have made a concerted effort in your mind to change your circumstances — you will find something large to move or remove.
