How long can you hold a single positive thought? We’ll be practicing all week to improve our overall focus!

2014 Great Release Program Day 8 – December 8  2014 by Silver RavenWolf

Every day you must throw something away! and — this week — Every day you must GIVE one thing away!

Monday! —  Bitty Day Moon in Cancer — 3rd Quarter (Banishing) and it is a Moon Day! Home, Family, Compassion, Practice, Protection Ideal Planetary Hour for Cancer magick — Moon

Light a dark blue candle to banish negativity! Hang a pair of child’s scissors, open, over the front door to cut negativity that is trying to sneak in!

This Week’s Theme: Focus

Pick a positive thought.  Hold on to it.  Retain it as long as you can.  Each day your retention period will lengthen.  You only need to practice! Practice retaining one positive thought three times a day.

Hail and Welcome!

Practice your Braucherei Morning Ritual, and then move on to today’s material!  A few of you have mentioned that you are having problems with the program because others in the home are stubbornly holding on to hoarding stuff, and leaving that stuff where others find it unsightly, or difficult to move around.  This is normal, particularly if this is your first year working the program.  Bringing things into harmony means making adjustments.  Some are easy.  Some?  Not so much.

Stuff, thoughts, and emotions are all tied together.  The program, we’ve found, works best if you can convince your family to participate.  Explain to them that if you fill up the space in your home with old, broken, unsightly stuff — new stuff that they may wish to acquire, can’t get there because the space is full.  You have to make room for the new in order to acquire it.  Use a reward system to get them interested — stars, cupcakes, whatever!!!   If the environment is always dirty, happiness can’t get a foothold — it is just too darned slippery!  The Chi (energy) can’t move through the home, and it is the momentum of flowing Chi that supports joy and clarity of mind. One very easy way to get family members on board is to make it a game, a fun challenge, a building block of delightful energy that invites family harmony through action.

There is a magickal way to get a stubborn pile of crap moving.  Banish it.  Yup!  Cleanse it with holy water and sacred smoke, and command it to move.  No kidding.  Hold your hands over the pile and banish it in your loudest, commanding, authoritative voice.  No, it will not pop off the face of the planet right here and right now; but, what you HAVE done is cut its energy ties to the spot, making it easier to move.  Don’t believe me?  No worries.  Try it and see!  The mess should be gone within the week, 24 hours if you really put the whammy to it.  How will it move?  Someone will move it — hopefully the owner; but, maybe someone else.  On occasion something new and cool enters the environment and demands that spot, making it necessary to remove the debris that’s currently sitting there.   If the banishment doesn’t work the first time, it is because the owner of the mess is clinging to it for dear life.  Banish it again! When you are facing a big mess, keep this in mind:  Take it one item, one mental movement, one day at a time.

Many times we can’t move forward on a project, issue, or circumstance because it seems so mentally huge that we see the bulk and feel immediately defeated.  Rather than trying to swallow the Empire State Building whole, I learned to look at the situation, take a deep breath and think:  What is one thing I can do?  Just one thing.  A small action to get it going.  What is one thing I can do to move forward?  And then, I do that one thing.  When I have that action done, I can do another, and another.  One step at a time.  One piece at a time.  One day at a time.  Eventually, the bulk you initially envisioned whittles away to accomplishment!

One of my favorite things to do when I’m stuck is work with the Runes.  I hold the rune bag in my hands, and I say:  “What is the energy I need to apply to my life today?”  I pull a rune from the bag.  Then, I contemplate that rune and how I can use its energy, its active force, in my life that day.  For example, if I drew the rune Sol or Sowulo –here is what comes to mind:

If I drew this rune in response to my question, I know that I should move forward and concentrate on success.

If I drew this rune in response to my question, I know that I should move forward and concentrate on success.

or, perhaps I drew the rune Laguz… (in keeping with our moon day today)…

Laguz is all about flow. If I drew this rune today, I would connect with Spirit and touch the "motion" of flow.

Laguz is all about flow. If I drew this rune today, I would connect with Spirit and touch the “motion” of flow and I would rely on my intuition in my work.

Sometimes I will hold the runes and ask:  “What magick can I do to help this person?”  or “What energy should I apply to this problem?”.  Why not try using your favorite divination tool today and, rather than asking about things — ask about energy!

Today’s Main ChallengeToday is Bitty Day!  You are going to walk around your environment and you are going to fix, change, move, put away, throw away, or give away little things.  These things should all be small.  Plugs, perfume bottles, paperclips, memory sticks, little toys, screws, errant socks, bits of paper, advertisements, old coupons, that ribbon off your favorite scarf that you were going to sew back on but didn’t, dish towels, nails… whatever is small that is hogging up where it is currently at.  If you have absolutely no idea what to do with something; but, are worried it is somehow important — put it in a Bitty Box (like a shoe box).  Before the day is over, ask whomever you need to ask about the object (like, “what the heck is this for?”) and if it is necessary, find a place for it.  If not — chuck it.  This way, you have made a step forward in changing the location of the item.  Bitty Things can really mire a living space because you overlook them for a long time, and in that time, they collect negative energy.  Today is the day to look at the little things!

Today’s Secondary ChallengeGive Things Away.  Last week we concentrated on throwing things away, this week we are going to add “giving” to our activities.  Walk through the house and start a “giving” box that you will absolutely give away by this coming Saturday.  If you can give it away today — all the better!  We don’t want to create clutter!  It is important to cleanse these items before we give them away.  In this way you remove all negativity AND all track-backs to your energy.  Wash the clothes, wipe down the small appliances or toys with disinfectant, etc., then cleans them ritually with holy water or burning sage or sweet grass.
