Day 26 - Great Release Program 2024 - Silver RavenWolf

Day 26

Thursday– 26 December

Capricorn Sun – Element of Earth

Scorpio 4th Qtr Moon

Mars is Retrograde until Sunday, 23 February 2025

Greetings and Good Morning!

May Good Spirits Surround you this day!

Celestial Brew - A Look at the Heavens

With Mercury in Sagittarius opposite Jupiter in Gemini and Mercury square a Pisces Saturn– miscommunication may be highly likely today, especially since Jupiter is retrograde so the focus is already on energies within and not what is going on in the outer world.  Although negotiations may be successful, the nature of these planetary combinations is a loss of clarity, and important fine details can be lost.  Following the rules might be considered a "must do" to get it right. Unusual opportunities are available, just take your time and consider all the angles.

Today's Challenge…  Drawers!

Ah, junk drawers. The Bermuda Triangle of home organization where everything goes to die. You know the one I’m talking about—the drawer that claims to hold “everything you might need one day” yet is more like a black hole of half-used batteries, take-out menus from 2015, and odd paperclips that have somehow evolved into a species of their own. It’s time to embark on the epic quest of cleaning out those infamous drawers, where the treasure lies not in valuables but in the surprises waiting to be uncovered!

Three-Pass System

Years ago I developed The 3-Pass Drawer Cleaning Technique for this program. I've found it to be an effective and systematic approach to decluttering any space, particularly drawers that often become catch-all zones. I also use it for closets because it greatly helps to lessen the anxiety.

During the first pass, focus on removing dirt, clutter, trash, and anything that elicits an "oh no!" reaction. This involves taking everything out of the drawer and laying it out where you can see all items clearly. Next, assess what items you can let go of without any emotional attachment and identify other belongings that might fit better in a different area. After addressing these initial tasks, take a break to allow your mind to reset before returning to the items later in the day. On the third pass, turn the process into a game by asking yourself, "What doesn't belong in my life anymore?" This playful yet introspective approach helps you make confident decisions about what to keep and what to discard, ultimately leading to a more organized and stress-free environment. With the 3-Pass Technique in hand, let's get to those drawers!

The Office Desk: A Treasure Trove of Business Casual Chaos

Let’s start with the desk drawer. You’ve got pens that haven’t written since New Year's Eve of 2000, sticky notes that could probably host a small family reunion, and those mysterious keys whose locks are lost to the sands of time. As you sift through this monument to procrastination, remember: if you haven’t used that fancy paperweight tied to a corporate gift exchange for five years, it's time to set it free! Perhaps it can become the centerpiece of your garden gnome collection? Then again, it could be that one thing you trash today!

The Dresser Drawer: A Fashion Odyssey

Next up is your dresser drawers, where clothing meets chaos. How many socks do you own that are technically classified as “orphaned”? You might find a shirt you forgot you owned, still trapped in a deep-eyed stare with the dust bunnies beneath the fabric universe. Who knew that cleaning out a drawer could also lead to an unplanned fashion show?

The Kitchen Drawer: Culinary Conundrum

Now, let’s wade into the kitchen drawer—the land of mismatched Tupperware lids, expired rubber bands, and utensils that promise to help you cook but instead end up playing hide-and-seek with your sanity. You’ll unearth an assortment of measuring spoons, most of which have proudly lost their "one tablespoon" label, making your baking attempts akin to culinary roulette. As you toss out that unrecognizable, squished sponge in the corner, consider this: rubber spatulas make excellent cat toys. Who would have thought?   However, I kept the Head of Dracula garlic smasher.  I couldn’t resist even though I forget to use it all the time!

Living Room Furniture or Hallway Drawers: The Forgotten Realm

And don’t forget about these drawers! These places are often the keepers of memories—mostly memories you’d rather forget. Out come the holiday cards from 2017, dusty and forgotten. You kept them so you'd have Aunt Marge's addy handy, except you've never sent her anything and she's moved.   As you dig through this forgotten realm, you might stumble upon last year’s Halloween costume pieces—do you still have those pirate eye patches? Because a treasure map is only a drawer away!

The Mystery Drawer: A Gathering of Misfits

We all have one. The ultimate mystery drawer—where all the lost causes seem to unite. You might uncover an old phone charger that isn’t compatible with any device you own, breadcrumbs from a snack session long gone, or even that single shoelace that’s been waiting for its companion since 2019. Honor the oddities and trash them! I have a plastic shoe box that holds all errant cords, chargers, and electronic gizmos. When I find these things, I put them in the plastic box and keep them for a year. I do this because:

I threw away the vacuum charger and had to order a new one

I threw away the phone wrong charger and had to buy a new one

I threw away the special cord for one of my electronics (you know the kind that insists on havings its own super special extra different cord?), and had to buy a new one.

Yeah, I know, right? So NOW all cords that seem to have lost their partners go in the plastic box. Strangely enough, the collection has also come in handy for visitors. "Hey! Do you have a...." -- and you know what? I do!

Instruction Drawer: Repository of Science Fiction Jargon

You know, I’ve discovered that my home may actually be the headquarters for an elite club of appliance instruction manuals, all of which seem to operate under the motto: “Keep, but never use.” I have a stack of these books that rivals Mount Everest—full of complex diagrams and technical jargon that could confuse a NASA engineer. There’s the manual for the toaster that’s obviously written in hieroglyphics, the one for the microwave that reads like an ancient scroll of lost wisdom, and let’s not forget the guide for the blender that insists I can create a gourmet smoothie if only I follow 37 steps and chant while pressing the buttons. Honestly, I’ve held onto them for so long that I’m starting to think of them as the prized possessions of my imaginary appliance museum. Throw out all manuals associated with appliances that you no longer own. Next, I throw out all manuals for the smaller appliances that I've had for six months -- can opener, toasters, hand-held vacuum -- I know I will never read them, so who am I trying to impress? I do keep all major appliance manuals - washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove -- so that I can read the error codes if I need to.  But I've found that if I can't find the manual, you can usually Google the error code if you need to find it.

Once you’ve emerged from your cleaning escapade, sit back and admire your work. You've conquered the clutter! Congratulations—you might not have discovered hidden treasure, but you definitely found your sanity. Now that your drawers are clean, you can finally enjoy that exhilarating feeling of knowing where that missing gadget, sock, or pantry item actually resides. Plus, you have space for new adventures—or, let’s be honest, more junk that needs a drawer to call home. Here's to drawer cleaning—where every mess tells a story!

Spirit Message for Today is from Spirits of Planting

So...why are we talking about planting? Isn't this a program about releasing? About banishing? About letting go? Isn't this the 4th Qtr Moon?

True. True. The waning moon is thought to be less favorable for planting above-ground crops because the decreased moonlight signals lower growth activity. However, it's an ideal time to focus on planting root crops or perennials that benefit from the waning moon energy. An excellent time for soil preparation, as it allows you to focus on enriching your garden with nutrients, composting, and tilling while the moon's energy embraces conservation.

Relating the physical concepts of gardening during a 4th Quarter Moon to a person's mind can offer insights into the cycles of personal growth and reflection. Just as the 4th Quarter Moon is a time for slowing down and focusing on soil preparation rather than active planting, our minds also benefit from periods of research, evaluation, introspection, and rest.

During this phase, it's beneficial to remove mental clutter, similar to how gardeners enrich the soil. Taking time to reflect on experiences, embrace stillness, and process emotions helps us build a healthier mental framework. This can be a time to engage in activities such as journaling, meditation, or simply pausing to evaluate our goals and intentions. It is a time to acknowledge what has worked in the past and what has not. Look at difficulties squarely -- not with fear; but, with the premise that you WILL find an answer.

In the same way that the moon's waning phase encourages a focus on root crops, which draw energy inward, we can turn our attention to our internal growth. This period can be used to deepen our understanding of ourselves, nurture our core values, and prepare for future actions when the energy shifts back to a more active phase, which will be on 30 December -- with the Capricorn New Moon at 5:27 PM EST/2:27 PM PST.

Recognizing these rhythms enables us to harness our mental energy more effectively, helping us to recharge before embarking on new endeavors. Embracing these quiet moments can lead to a more balanced and resilient mindset, ultimately fostering personal growth and readiness for the phases of action that follow.
